Arguing with a cop

For this weeks muddiest point I wanted to clarify something that didn't make any sense to me. I read in Thank You For Arguing, an example of how to win an argument with a cop. The example given was a poor one at best, not to mention that it would be a miracle if it actually worked. I have, many times in my life, been at the mercy of a policeman. To be honest, most of them were just normal every day people that have a hard job. Most of these policeman were very polite and I was able to reason with just about every one of them. I got out of getting many tickets by just being polite myself. However, I have had run-ins with policeman that were incapable of being persuaded in any way. Whether they were having a bad day and taking it out on me or just being the jerks they are everyday of the week...I don't know. What I do know is this...some people can never be persuaded. At least that's the way it seems to me.
